Sponsorship campaign launches with display of Team Sarah's Olympic sail boat in the City of London
QuIC Financial Technologies, a market leader providing the world's financial organisations with risk management, pricing and analytic solutions, today unveiled its corporate sponsorship of two-time Olympic gold medallist, Sarah Ayton, OBE. This sponsorship sets the stage for QuIC to play a fundamental role in Ayton's continuing success in the international world of sailing and her campaign for the London 2012 Olympics.
"We are extremely delighted to have the opportunity to work with Sarah over the coming years," said Nigel Cairns, President and CEO for QuIC. "Sarah is a proven winner on the global stage, with an unparalleled ability to perform at the highest levels. Having achieved such spectacular success early in her career, she is a prime example of how far dedication and teamwork can take you. All traits that we embody here at QuIC."
To officially launch QuIC's sponsorship campaign for Team Sarah, Ayton and teammate Saskia Clark will bring their Olympic sailboat to the heart of the City of London during afternoon rush hour on Thursday, September 30, 2010. The display is meant to generate support for Team Sarah's campaign while raising awareness for the upcoming London 2012 Summer Games. The boat will be prominently showcased behind the Royal Exchange Building between the hours of 1600 and 1800.
"When sailing at Olympic levels, it is attention to detail that counts. So it is imperative we have the right approach and processes in place to train and achieve success," said Ayton, OBE. "With like-minded sponsors like QuIC behind us, we can access the best coaching and the most advanced equipment available to improve our performance. Come London 2012, our country and supporters can be assured that Team Sarah will be ready to compete at the highest levels; all thanks in large part to QuIC's long-term commitment to support our campaign."
A true world leader, Ayton won gold at both the Athens and Beijing Olympics, sailing in the three-member Yngling class. If successful, Ayton will become the first British woman ever to have won three successive Olympic golds.
To showcase Ayton's training in the run up to the Games, QuIC has also launched a microsite to support her bid for the London 2012 Olympic Games, www.quic.com/sarahayton.
