The UK's Oldest Esoteric Institution Reveals the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People
The Watkins Review is pleased to announce its list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People. The Spiritual 100 list ranks spiritual leaders and authors including the Dalai Lama (#2), Deepak Chopra (#5), Nelson Mandela (#19), the Pope (#34), and the best selling author Eckhart Tolle at #1. The spring issue features a full eleven pages highlighting each of these inspirational individuals.
The Watkins Review is sold and published by Watkins Books, England's oldest spiritual bookshop that has been trading for 118 years. The magazine is also available on the Apple App store world wide, except in China where it has been banned due to its praising the Dalai Lama.
Time Magazine publishes an annual list of the 100 people who most influence the world and Forbes publishes several lists including a rich list and Celebrity 100 list. The Watkins Review believes that an important list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People is long overdue.
Watkins Review is proud to debut the Spiritual 100 list, and hopes that it will nurture the debates surrounding contemporary spirituality.
There are several factors that were taken into account when compiling the list. Listed below are the main three:
1) The person has to be alive
2) The person has to have made a unique and spiritual contribution on a global scale
3) The person is frequently googled, appears in Nielsen Data, and highlighted throughout the blogosphere
It's interesting to think about the amount of times that a person is googled; in a sense, being googled is a form of digital voting, and illustrates just how often someone is being sought out.
