Well-established airline becomes fifth CSeries aircraft customer

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that an airline, which has requested to remain unidentified at this time, has placed a firm order for three CS100 aircraft and options on three more. Deliveries of the aircraft will start in 2014.

Based on the list price for the CS100 aircraft, the firm order placed by the unidentified carrier is valued at $186 million US, which could increase to $385 million US, should all three options be converted to firm orders.

"As we have been saying for some time now, the CSeries family of aircraft is an unmatched value proposition in its segment," said Charles (Chet) Fuller, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Asset Management, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "The orders announced last week and today confirm that the CSeries aircraft''s widebody-style comfort, exceptional performance capabilities, low cash operating costs and environmental credentials make it an ideal air transport solution worldwide."

Designed for the growing 100- to 149-seat market, the CSeries family of aircraft combines advanced materials, leading-edge technology and proven methods to meet commercial airline requirements in 2013 and beyond.

The CSeries aircraft family will offer a 15* per cent cash operating cost advantage and a 20* per cent fuel burn advantage; greatly reduced noise and emissions; as well as superior operational flexibility, exceptional airfield performance and a range of 2,950 nm (5,463 km). It will also provide passengers with three-plus-two, widebody-style seating in a single-aisle aircraft.

The transaction announced today increases firm orders for the CSeries family of aircraft to 103 including 41 CS100 and 62 CS300 aircraft, and raises the number of CSeries aircraft customers to five. Other customers that have ordered CSeries aircraft include Republic Airways (40 CS300 aircraft), Deutsche Lufthansa AG (30 CS100 aircraft), Lease Corporation International Group (17 CS300 and three CS100 aircraft) and Braathens Aviation (five CS100 and five CS300 aircraft). In addition, the CSeries aircraft program has booked options for 103 aircraft.
