ETS Participates in IIE U.S. Higher Education Fairs in Asia Beginning September 17, 2011

Representatives of Educational Testing Service (ETS), creator of the TOEFL(R) test and the GRE(R) revised General Test, will participate at upcoming Institute of International Education (IIE) U.S. Higher Education Fairs in Japan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Students will be able to speak with representatives to learn the latest information on the two leading assessments and how to obtain free resources and study tools.

"At ETS we are committed to helping students in Asia achieve their educational goals, and being informed about application requirements is an important first step," says David Payne, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ETS's Higher Education Division. "We are excited to have the opportunity to talk to students directly and answer their questions about our testing programs."

The TOEFL test and the GRE revised General Test are the two most widely accepted assessments used for admission into higher education. Together, the GRE and the TOEFL tests are two important pieces of a university application for study abroad.

The TOEFL test measures the ability of nonnative English speakers to use and understand English in a university setting at both undergraduate and graduate levels. It provides a fair and objective assessment of a student's ability to listen, read, write and speak in an academic environment.

The GRE revised General Test, which features new changes introduced in August of this year, measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills needed for success in today's demanding graduate and business school programs. With a new test-taker friendly design and new question types, the GRE revised General Test reflects the kind of thinking students will do in school and shows their readiness for graduate-level studies.

ETS representatives will be attending the IIE U.S. Higher Education Fairs in all of the following locations:
