First in the Industry to Correlate Historical Performance Data and Offer Executives Interactive Reports for Improving Video Performance

IneoQuest Technologies, Inc., the leader in High Availability Video Programming Solutions and global provider of advanced quality and service assurance solutions for digital video, today announced the availability of cPAR, the industry's first consolidated performance analytics and interactive reporting solution for cable, broadcast, satellite and telecommunications service providers. Using cPAR, executives and network operations managers can leverage volumes of historical video quality data to perform long-term trending and analysis in order to manage their video Quality of Service (QoS) and ensure a quality subscriber experience.

The IneoQuest cPAR technology collects performance information across one or more of a service provider's iVMS™ video management systems into one central location and then produces an interactive and easy-to-understand dashboard on network health, with the ability to isolate chronic performance issues when needed. For example, cPAR's OLAP capabilities allow a network operations manager to drill down into sections of interest and display the actual QoS measurements and even alarm threshold settings that corresponded with network outages or impairments. At the same time, cPAR can provide Program Availability Reports over email to executives' desktop computers, PDAs and smartphones so they can understand when, where and how long network events occurred.

Unlike other reporting solutions on the market, cPAR possesses the ability to generate historical, multi-layered Program Availability Reports, critical to enhancing long-term QoS. The report summarizes the metric the SCTE HMS standards body is championing as an industry-wide benchmark for measuring availability and that IneoQuest is supporting with all of its products. To develop the report, cPAR tracks the number of errored seconds caused by loss, bitrate errors and outages to determine availability for each program across the network and over a period of time, including events over the last day, week and month.

cPAR also enables service providers to proactively fine-tune their network by giving them the ability to analyze the effects of technology upgrades such as new encoding algorithms, set-top boxes (STB), transport technology and bitrate changes. This makes forecasting video resources and substantiating capital investments to meet seasonal, cyclical and organizational service demands much easier.

"With today's subscriber demands and expectations, service providers can't afford to adopt a reactive approach to correcting long-term problems with network performance and video delivery," said Calvin Harrison, vice president of business development at IneoQuest. "We have answered our customers' call for an interactive tool to access and analyze vast amounts of video performance information that can be used to ensure 99.999 percent service availability. cPAR presents service providers with a dynamic scorecard and accurate visibility into network performance, enabling them to address the most severe problem areas first. As a result, they can ensure their investments are well spent and their subscribers are satisfied."
