The cabinet meeting on Tuesday 28, June 2011 has come to the following decision:
The cabinet endorsed the Ministry of Commerce’s report on the adjustment of the price of chicken eggs and other agricultural products and consumer goods that have been examined under coordination of entrepreneurs. The report aimed at setting values according to real cost prices of each product as follows.
1. Chicken eggs: price has been adjusted to 0.10 baht on retail each since 6 June 2011 according to the Declaration of the Office of the Central Committee of the Products and Services (Vol.4).
2. Live pigs: price has been fluctuating at a rather high rate due to a high number of replacements caused by previous epidemic. The number of pigs in the market is likely to increase in 5-6 months due to the cooler weather and the improvement in deterring the outbreak. However, the set measure in price regulation stipulated by the Office of the Central Committee and its strict monitoring and inspection have caused the price of red meat to drop at 5 baht/kg. The Ministry of Commerce will however monitor, examine, and supervise the set prices in accordance with supply and demand to protect the consumer rights as it would forge appropriate legal measures if need be.
The cabinet ratified MOAC regulations regarding the said measures: criterion, qualification, and methods of appointing qualified committees in Agricultural Relief Committee, following its initial proposal. The cabinets herewith dispatched Audit Committee of Draft Law and Legislation to consider and advance the issue further.
The Cabinet acknowledged the Joint Declaration pertaining to the strengthening of military cooperation within ASEAN in global community in order to combat new challenges. With it, three documents connecting to the declaration are presented as have previously been proposed by Ministry of Defense.
1. Three-year objective plan of ASEAN Defense Ministers meeting framework (2011-2013).
2. A proposed document pertaining to the establishment of ASEAN peacekeeping operation network center.
3. A proposed document pertaining to the cooperation in defense industry in ASEAN framework.
