The cabinet meeting on Tuesday, 8 May 2012 has come to the following decision:
The Cabinet approved the Draft Ministerial Regulations in determining rules for the organization of vocational institutes and qualifications of current incumbents in National Institute of Development Administration. There are two documents pertaining to the rules and procedures in allocating committees for the institutes, following the Ministry of Education’s proposal. The documents are being reviewed by the Council of States and will be further processed in due course.
The Cabinet acknowledged the resolution of the committee from the meeting (2/2012) on 11 April 2012, following Deputy Prime Minister Yongyouth Vichaidith’s recommendation, which denotes 5 different areas as follows:
1. Strategies related to development of the Southern border province between 2012 and 2014.
2. Request for recommendation of rules and procedures in assisting and remedying the victims of violence and an approval of budget for fiscal year 2012, central budget or budget reserved for emergency situations.
3. Development plan for Princess of Narathiwat University for fiscal year 2013-2016.
4. Private education management in the South border provinces.
5. Request for the readjustment of project and budget according to the Development Plan of the special governing area of 5 Southern border provinces, under the auspices of Internal Security Operations Command and Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Southern Border Province Administration Center (SBPAC) has acknowledged the recommendations by the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission Thailand for further consideration and appointed Education Ministry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry and Internal Security Operations Command to proceed with relevant agendas.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister approved CCTV budget and special subsidy for monks in the 5 Southern border provinces.
The Cabinet acknowledged the progress report, following the Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s proposal, and designated the committee to coordinate and follow up TRCT recommendation.
The Cabinet approved in principle the implementation of project “in preparation for the dispatch of police officers to join UN peacekeeping mission,” following the recommendation of from Royal Thai Police. Nonetheless, due to unclear United Nations mandate regarding the actual site of operation, coupled with non-finalized procedures and details, the budget is subsequently pending from the Bureau of Budget.
The Cabinet acknowledged the Draft Ministerial Regulation regarding the integration of vocational schools with an aim to establish vocational institutes. The Council of State has scrutinized the draft and called to amend the draft article No.10 from “Bungkan Community College” to “Bungkan Technical College” following the recommendation of Ministry of Education, before further proceedings.
