The cabinet meeting on Monday, 14 May 2012 has come to the following decision:
Following the Energy Ministry, the Cabinet approved of the draft regulation pertaining to 4 issues, previously considered by the Council of State, which includes:
1. The zoning regulations and the safety of the installations and equipment used in petroleum exploration and production.
2. Regulations prescribing the procedures and conditions for concession.
3. Draft regulations for the concession.
4. Draft regulation prescribing rules and method for petroleum exploration, production and conservation
The Cabinet approved of the recommendation from Bureau of the Budget, Office of the Prime Minister and the Central Budget Finance Ministry on the progress of the project implementation under the Central budget, the cost of remedies and comprehensive damage prevention with the budget of 120 billion Baht. The budget allocation of the fiscal year 2012, central budget, the cost of remedies and comprehensive damage prevention, amounting to 119,135.607 million Baht, have been allocated to governmental agencies and enterprises. A separate budget of 80,613.972 million baht has been allocated for action plans and spending plans from October 2012 to November 2012.
The Cabinet approved the 141st Cabinet resolution on energy policy in the 2nd meeting (2/2012), following the recommendation made by the Energy Ministry and appointed to Energy Policy and Planning Office to proceed with relevant announcement to take further effect.
The Cabinet approved the Department of Trade Negotiations (DTN), Ministry of Commerce to support ERIC activities with a lump sum budget of $50,000 dollars as previously proposed. The amount came from the budget for fiscal year 2012, from DTN amounting to 1,550,000 Baht or 50,000 dollars (with the exchange rate of 1:31 or according to local currency). Decision will be made under Commerce Ministry and relevant agencies’ discretion in the event of currency fluxuations (under approval of the Office of the National Economic and Social Development) in support for researchers and research institutes in collaboration with |ERIC, as well as the promotion of the research results.
The Cabinet acknowledged and approved of the following:
1. Approved the agreement on cultural cooperation between the two nations
2. Approved the Foreign Minister or designated person from the Foreign Minister to sign the said agreement.
3. In the event where there is any amendment to non-essential content to be made (The wording of the agreement is consistent with the national interests and policies, the Foreign Ministry can consider without the Cabinet’s approval.
