The cabinet meeting on Tuesday, 9 October 2012 has come to he following decision
The cabinet approved the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s proposal as following;
1. Approved on the Exchange of Note to Establishment of Joint Committee between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the Development of Dawei Special Economic Zone and Projects in relevant areas.
2. Authorized the Minister of Foreign Affair to sign on the Exchange of Note.
3. Appointed to form the members of the Joint Committees for Development of Dawei Special Economic Zone, preparation for the first committee meeting between Thailand and Myanmar, which Thailand offered to be the host.
the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Transport's proposal as following;
1. Approved on Draft Memorandum of Intention of Cooperation on Rail Transportation including high-speed and urban rail between the Ministry of Transport, the Kingdom of Thailand between The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Japan.
2. Authorized the Minister of Transport or his representative to sign on the Memorandun of Intention of Cooperation.
Gist of the Memorandum of Intention of Cooperation on Rail Transportation including high-speed and urban rail between the Ministry of Transport, the Kingdom of Thailand between The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Japan as follows:
General Principles are to confirm their intention and determination to closely cooperate in enhancing mutual interest by sharing policies and experiences in rail transport including high speed and urban rail and expanding cooperation among organisations related to rail transportation. Area of Cooperation includes exchange of information and know- how in the field of rail transportation, exchange education and training of experts, and joint organization of seminar and meeting in field of rail transportation.
Establishment of the railway working group to implement of the Memorandum.
The Memorandum will continue for three years from the date of signing.
The cabinet acknowledged the progress over the Rice Insurance Plan of 2012 as proposed by the Ministry of Finance and assigned the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) to execute the plan effectively throughout the country.
The cabinet acknowledged the National Operation Center on Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking’s proposal to set up the Coordination fishery workers Centre to prevent human trafficking in fishing industry.
Assigned the related agencies to execute the plan as proposed and constantly report the result to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security
