The Cabinet acknowledged Children and Youth Development Report 2012 according to Article 20 of National Children and Youth Development Promotion Act B.E. 2550 (2007), as proposed by Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
Gist of Children and Youth Development Report 2012
This report is comprised of 4 sections:
Section 1: Children and youth population demonstrates structure and tendency of children and youth population, as well as their needs and future situation.
Section 2: Situation and tendency, progress and solutions for problems related to children and youth development, which include children & youth and family, safety, education, culture, morality, recreation, media, promotion of participation, student council, special protection, career and job opportunity, law and regulations, and preparation for the ASEAN Community.
Section 3: National Youth Council is a report of progress of National Youth Council, including analysis of success/obstacles in the operation of National Youth Council.
Section 4: Budget for children and youth development is an analysis of disbursement of budget for children and youth development
Suggestions for the mobilization of children and youth development:
Immediate measures 1) health and safety 2) early childhood development 3) proper environment and safety for children 4) immediate measure to decrease problems and impacts on teenage pregnancy 5) children protection against impact from media 6) entering labor market of children and youth and 7) operation of National Youth Council.
Long-term measures 1) promotion of integrated development of family efficiency 2) development of administrative system development network for children and youth protection, and 3) strengthening of local administration organizations and others
The Cabinet approved an agreement for Thailand to host the Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Group Meeting between Thailand institute of Justice (Public Organization) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on 18-21 February 2014. The arrangement of this agreement will be implemented in form of exchange of letters between Government of Thailand and United Nations (UN).
Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered copy of the UNODC letter and did not have any objection to the gist of letter to accept the hosting of the aforementioned meeting. Minor suggestions were made to make it more precise, and UNODC had already revised accordingly.
The Cabinet agreed on the proposal made by the Secretariat of the Cabinet on the Election Commission’s resolution of draft Ministry of Finance announcement on excise tax reduction (No. ...) and approved the extension of excise tax deduction period for diesel oil for another 1 month from February 1-28, 2014.
