The cabinet meeting on Wednesday 1 October 2014 at Santimaitri Building, Government House has come to the following resolutions;
Approval draft Promotion and Management of Marine and Coastal Resources Act B.E…examined by the office of Council of State, then be submitted to the Coordinating Committee of the National Legislative Assembly for the National Legislative Assembly consideration. The objective is to establish the National Committee on Planning and Policy on Marine and Coastal Resources Management which chaired by the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister assigned by the Prime Minister. This National Committee is responsible for outlining the National Planning and Policy on Marine and Coastal Resources Management for the cabinet consideration and revising it at least every three years. In this matter, the local community along the marine and coastal area will gain support and assistance to promote the local participation in management, preservation, restoring, exploiting the marine and coastal resources. This National Committee also come up with the mechanism and measures to protect the marine and coastal resources such as the mangrove forest protection measures, the coastal protection measures.
Approval the Organizing 4th Asian Beach 2014, in Phuket, Thailand between 14-23 November 2014 as proposed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. In this regard, the Bureau of the Budget will be further discuss the budget outline. The Games will be focusing on both tourism. Events to be contested in the Games are air sports, aquatics, jujitsu, beach handball, sambo, beach volleyball, woodball, beach basketball, bodybuilding, sailing, squash, beach kabaddi, beach wrestling, kurash, muay (Muay thai), petanque, beach sepak trakaw, foot volley, jetski, beach modern pentathlon, triathlon, beach athletics, waterski, beach flag football, beach soccer, and extreme sports. The Asian Beach Games were first held in Bali in 2008.
Approval of the 2 January 2015 as the additional holiday for the News Year Holiday Festival in Thailand as proposed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. So, This makes it 5 consecutive New Year holidays (December 31, 2014- January 4, 2015).
