Approval for the Support of the Damrongtham Centre: Through asking all government agencies to provide support and assistance to the Damrongtham Centre in every province in terms of manpower, office supplies, budgeting and information as proposed by the Ministry of Interior. Damrongtham Centre is responsible for accepting complaints from the public and local residents on any issue in the NCPO’s pursuit of national reconciliation. The government expects the Centre to play a crucial role in bringing the public’s opinion and suggestion directly to the NCPO’s attention.
Approval of the draft MOU on Establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The Cabinet designated the Minister of Finance or his representative to sign the draft.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was first proposed by the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China to support a new Multilateral Financing Mechanism, under which Thailand will join as one of the founding members. The main objective of MOU is to emphasize on infrastructure development in order to boost economic growth and strengthen wealth and connectivity in Asia. The MOU also aims to facilitate cooperation with other organizations for development and to promote cooperation among countries in the region.
Approval and Acknowledgement on guidelines for prevention and control of the spread of Ebola virus in all sector, as well as, preparation plan to provide assistance to West Africa as proposed by the Ministry of Health. The cabinet has acknowledged the current situation of Ebola virus and assigned related agencies to proceed according to guidelines for prevention and control of the spread of Ebola virus. Additionally, the cabinet also approved the proposed plan to send financial assistance, necessary medical equipment and other humanitarian aid to West Africa.The Ministry of Health reported that there are certain measures required to prevent and control the Ebola virus as follows: 1. Monitor the situation from WHO and every country to estimate the risk continually2. Screen and track travelers from the epidemic areas who travel to Thailand by air, sea, and land. 3. Monitor and investigate suspected case of ebola infected patients: reaffirmed that no Ebola infections are found in Thailand. 4. Providing Ebola virus protective equipment for Thailand’s Health Workforce in all areas. 5. Communicating correct medical facts on the situation to the public. 6. Preparing an integrated emergency plan.7. Coordinate with national organizations, international agencies and the international community.
The cabinet approved Measures To Reduce Drought 2013/2014 proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
1. Acknowledgement of the Chao Phraya River situation, Mae Klong River situation and other basins.
2. Approval on the limitation of water release for the purpose of off-season rice paddy irrigation in the Chao Phraya River basin and Mae Klong River Basin.
3. Approval of the operation plan to help people affected by drought within the same vicinity. For instance, farmers in the Chao Phraya River basin and Mae Klong River Basin inside the irrigation area and outside the irrigation area will be supported in the same manner. The primary measure of the Royal Irrigation Department to assist the drought season is an employment of 7.65 million employees to dredge the canal daily.
Additional measures will run by the 2015 budget and central budget. The list of 2015 advanced fiscal budget in case of emergency are as follows:
1. Training and support in related fields of production to promote fishery.
2. Training and support in related fields of production to promote livestock.
3.Training in agricultural area by the Department of Agricultural Extension.
4. Providing bean seeds by the Department of Agricultural Extension.
5. Training in other areas by The Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education
6. Providing green manure by Land Development Department
