Proposal on the implementation of “Discover Thainess 2015” as national agenda and request for approval of the year 2015 as the Year of “Discover Thainess”
The cabinet approved the following proposals made by Ministry of Tourism and Sport:
1) Approved for the year 2015 to be the Year of “Discover Thainess”
2) Approved the establishment of 5 committees related to the implementation of “Discover Thainess 2015”
Campaign “Discover Thainess 2015” is aimed to present Thailand’s image in a new perspective for foreign tourists to understand and respect Thai ways of life, and to stimulate and promote domestic tourism in a tangible manner. Under this campaign, Thailand will be presented through its values, rather than product approach. A new global tagline, “Amazing Thailand: Happiness Within” will be launched targetted at both first-time and repeat visitors from foreign and domestic markets, as well as luxury, honeymoon, golf, eco-tourism, and health & wellness targets.
Signing of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)
The cabinet approved the signing of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). Gist of the Treaty is to standardize and revise rules and regulations on international arms trade. This is to prevent illegal arms trade and promote peace and security both at the regional and international levels.
Draft Plan of Action Implementing the Thailand – Viet Nam Strategic Partnership (2014-2018)
The cabinet approved in principle Draft Plan of Action Implementing the Thailand – Viet Nam Strategic Partnership (2014-2018) as proposed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and assigned the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to be the signatory of the Draft Plan.
Gist of the Draft Plan is to affirm joint intent of Thailand and Vietnam in promoting and strengthening mutual relations and cooperation in a comprehensive manner in the following aspects: 1) political partnership; 2) military and security cooperation; 3) economic cooperation; 4) educational, cultural, and social cooperation, as well as people-to-people connectivity; 5) other cooperation.
Hosting of ASEAN Fisheries and Aquaculture Conference and Exposition 2016: ASEAN Seafood for the World
The cabinet approved for Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, through the Fishery Department, to host ASEAN Fisheries and Aquaculture Conference and Exposition 2016: ASEAN Seafood for the World.
ASEAN Fisheries and Aquaculture Conference and Exposition 2016: ASEAN Seafood for the World will be a platform for producers and exporters in fishery from all over the world to meet and conduct negotiation with foreign counterparts, as well as exchange experiences and knowledge on fishery.
