Proposals from meeting resolution of National Committee for Persons with Disabilities' Quality of Life Promotion
The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security received the following Cabinet’s approvals:
1. The Cabinet approved the principle to raise disability premium payment from 500 baht to 800 baht per person per month, starting FY2015
2. The Cabinet approved the principle to recruit two officers based at nationwide provincial service centers for persons with disabilities
3. The Ministry of Transport was assigned to revise purchasing specs of the 3,183 NGV buses. A total of 1,659 ordinary buses (no air conditioning) were required to be low-floor to draw with international standards.
Pledge on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) regarding greenhouse gas emissions reduction
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment obtained the following Cabinet’s approvals:
1. NAMAs were approved to continue mitigating greenhouse gas emissions by a potential range of 7-20%
2. NAMAs pledge was approved. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was assigned to submit the pledge to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
3. Thai delegation was authorized to present information regarding the NAMAs pledge, as well as the potential range of greenhouse gas emission mitigation of 7-20% at the 20th Conference of the Parties (COP20), including during bilateral and multilateral talks.
