The Cabinet met on Wednesday, May 7, 2015 at Command Building, Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows;
Title: Designation of Fourth of July as “Thai Environmental Health Day”
The Cabinet endorsed the designation of Fourth of July each year as “Thai Environmental Health Day” as proposed by Ministry of Public Health. Relevant agencies are to hold activities promoting environmental health on “Thai Environmental Health Day” every year.
Gist of the matter
Ministry of Public Health reported as follows:
Ministry of Public Health appreciated the divine grace of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn for contributing to environmental health-related works and being a role model and inspiration for public servants in the environmental health field through protection of the public’s rights to good health and resolutions to environmental health problems. Ministry of Public Health, therefore, asked for royal permission to designate Fourth of July of each year, which is Her Royal Highness’s birthday anniversary, as “Thai Environmental Health Day” to honor Her Royal Highness and create awareness of engagement in environmental health implementations for the betterment of people’s quality of life and the country’s sustainable development. Her Royal Highness has granted her royal permission.
Title: Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Energy Cooperation, and Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Electric Power of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Electric Power Cooperation
The Cabinet granted the following agreement and approvals to Ministry of Energy:
1. Agreement and approval to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Energy Cooperation and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Electric Power of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Electric Power Cooperation;
2. Approval for the Minister of Energy or his delegate to serve as signatory of the Memorandums of Understanding; and
3. Approval for Ministry of Energy to consult with Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding any necessary amendments of the Memorandums of Understanding in places not affecting the gist of the Memorandums without the need for another Cabinet’s consideration.
Title: Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and China National Energy Administration for Cooperation in the Field of Civil Nuclear Energy
The Cabinet granted the following agreement and approvals to Ministry of Energy:
1. Agreement and approval to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and China National Energy Administration for Cooperation in the Field of Civil Nuclear Energy;
2. Approval for the Minister of Energy or his delegate to serve as signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding; and
3. Approval for Ministry of Energy to consult with Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding any necessary amendments of the Memorandum of Understanding in places not affecting the gist of the Memorandum without the need for another Cabinet’s consideration.
Title: Approval on draft Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on National Defence Cooperation
The Cabinet approved the proposal made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan as follows:
1. Ministry of Defence would make Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on National Defence Cooperation;
2. Minister of Defence is assigned to be the signatory. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to hand over full powers to Minister of Defence to sign the agreement.
3. Any amendments of the draft agreement can be made where necessary by Ministry of Defence.
