The Cabinet met on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Command Building 1, Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows;
The Declaration is to be proposed at the 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime at Kuala Lumpur. Given the link between irregular movement of persons, trafficking in persons and people smuggling, the Kuala Lumpur Declaration includes the strengthening of law enforcement efforts through information and intelligence sharing, developing regional communication campaigns, strengthening cooperation with ASEAN Dialogue Partners and international organizations, and establishing a trust fund for humanitarian efforts.
Other measures include conducting studies related to the irregular movement of persons, transnational crime, and trafficking in persons in Southeast Asia.
The Convention is a regional framework that facilitates collaboration among ASEAN members in the investigations and prosecution of persons involved in trafficking. It also includes provisions on assistance to victims of trafficking. The document also mentions the promotion of ministerial meetings on anti-drugs trafficking, laws, human rights, politics and regional security.
Depending on the amount of grains deposited, participants will receive the rate of 3% per year over the period of 60-180 days. The objective of this scheme is to add liquidity for rice growers and maintain grain prices in order to aid farmers’ productivity. The programme will last from 1 October 2015 to 30 June 2017 and will use leftover funds from a similar programme that was implemented last year.
The Act covers teenager’s rights to receive information and services to reproductive health prevention, emphasis on schools to provide reproductive health education suitable to students age group, and the establishment of a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Committee chaired by the Prime Minister.
This project will be completed by the Port Authority of Thailand, who will make investments to create an office, service facilities, 6 mobile cranes for container handling, and a new container yard with over 5000 ground slots. The project will also see additional railway tracks that will allow 12 train carriage movements at the same time. The project will lead to cheaper shipping costs, quicker transport times, fewer road accidents, as well as fewer Carbon Credits.
These will come in the form of new Acts and ministerial regulations which have been reviewed by the Council of State. This restructuring will create clear roles for the Department of Civil Aviation as a Policy Unit, as a Regulator, and as an Operator. In doing so, this will comply with ICAOs safety oversight standards.
