The cabinet met on July 30, 2019 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved draft 6 documents to be adopted at the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Lower Mekong Initiative. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to proceed without having to resubmit the documents to the cabinet. Minister of Foreign Affairs or a representative, as head of the Thai delegation, is authorized as signatory of the 6 documents.
1) Joint Statement on the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Lower Mekong Initiative,
2) Draft Joint Statement on Strengthening Coordination among the Friends of the Lower Mekong,
3) Draft Joint Ministerial Statement for the 10th Mekong – Ganga Cooperation Ministerial Meeting,
4) Draft Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Plan of Action 2019 – 2022,
5) Draft Co – Chairs’ Statement of the 9th Mekong – ROK Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and
6) Draft Co – Chair’s Statement of the 12th Mekong – Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Ministerial Meetings under the Mekong Initiative Framework will be held during August 1-31, 2019 in Bangkok, as part of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting.
The cabinet approved negotiation framework for Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on Intellectual Properties as proposed by Ministry of Commerce.
Negotiation framework for Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on Intellectual Properties will be the guideline for Thailand to conduct negotiation on protection of intellectual properties under RCEP framework. This is to ensure that the negotiation will be in line with Thailand’s policy and implementation on intellectual property system development.
The upcoming meeting of the RCEP Working Group on intellectual property will be held on July 24-31, 2019 in Zhengzhou, People’s Republic of China.
The cabinet approved a proposal made by Secretariat of the Prime Minister to appoint the following political officials:
1. Mr. Prateep Keeratirekha Prime Minister’s Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs
2. Mr. Kobsak Pootrakool Prime Minister’s Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs (Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak)
3. Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat Government Spokesperson
The appointments have taken effect from July 30, 2019 onward.
