The cabinet met on February 11, 2020 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved in principle the draft Ministerial Regulation regarding vehicle tolls on Motorway No. 6 (Bang Pa-in - Nakhon Ratchasima section), B.E. .., as proposed by Ministry of Transport. The Ministry was also ordered to take recommendations of Office of National Economic and Social Development Board, Office of Council of State, and the Policy Committee for Private Investments in State Undertakings into consideration.
The draft Ministerial Regulation prescribes Motorway No. 6 as a toll way of which the tolls will be charged by the distance travelled and by types of vehicles. Toll rates will be adjusted every 5 years. The regulation will be taken into effect from the date announced by Director-General of the Department of Highways
The cabinet approved the Draft Royal Decree issued under the Revenue Code Regarding Reduction of Revenue Taxes (No. …) B.E. … (Tax measure to promote investment in special economic zones), as proposed by Ministry of Finance.
The draft Royal Decree prescribes reduction of corporate income tax for companies operating in special economic zones. The reduction of corporate income tax from 20% to 10% for 10 consecutive accounting period has been approved.
The cabinet approved the draft Regulation on Size, Form, and Color of Vehicle Registration Plates, and Display of Vehicle Registration Plates and Annual Tax Payment Signs (No. …), B.E. …, as proposed by Ministry of Transport.
The draft Ministerial Regulation prescribes size, form, and color of vehicle registration plates of cars and motorcycles of foreign trade and economic offices established in Thailand in accordance with the agreements between the Thai government, foreign governments, and the foreign trade and economic offices. Vehicle registration plates issued before the Ministerial Regulation takes effect can continue to be used.
The cabinet approved for Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (Department of Children and Youth) to be allocated with FY2019 annual budget (central, contingency budget) for the total amount of 2,056,516,400 Baht for the subsidy of newborns welfare program for FY2020 until FY2020 Annual Budget Act is promulgated.
The cabinet approved Thailand’s membership in the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), and authorized Ministry of Justice to proceed accordingly.
Hague Conference on Private International Law is an intergovernmental organisation in the area of private international law, that administers several international conventions, protocols and soft law instruments. The Membership of the HCCH comprises 82 Member States including 4 ASEAN countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Thailand’s membership is aimed to exchange, learn, and discuss development approach for international laws, and promote cooperation with other member states in in the area of private international law, that administers several international conventions, protocols and soft law instruments.
