The cabinet approved the draft Ministerial Regulation on Coastal Seas (No. …) B.E. …, as proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Gist

This is a revision to the Ministerial Regulation on Coastal Seas B.E. 2560 for coastal seas in Trat province. The revision will better benefit aquatic resource management, and promote fishing sustainability, as well as reducing IUU fishing.

The Ministerial Regulation stipulated Trat’s coastal seas as follows: 1.3.00 - 6.48 nautical miles from a part of the ocean that is immediately adjacent to the shores 2.3.00 - 6.48 nautical miles from a part of the ocean that is immediately adjacent to the island shores

Title: Relocation of Asia and Pacific Regional Office of International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

The cabinet approved relocation of the Asia and Pacific Regional Office of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) from Thailand Post’s Post and Telecommunication School Building, to Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). Expenses incurred from the relocation will be responsible by NBTC. This is as proposed by NBTC.

The cabinet approved the draft Joint Statement on the 5th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (5th AMMS), the 2nd ASEAN-Japan Ministerial Meeting on Sports, and 4 related TORs, that is, (1) draft Terms of Reference ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS); (2) Terms of Reference ASEAN Plus Japan Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS + Japan); (3) Terms of Reference ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports (SOMS); and (4) Terms of Reference ASEAN Plus Japan Senior Officials Meeting on Sports (SOMS + Japan). Should there be an amendment of the above documents in parts that are not gist nor against the principle approved by the cabinet, Ministry of Tourism and Sports may proceed and inform the cabinet of the amendment later.

Upon approval by the cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs would send a notice to ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia to express Thailand’s intent in officially adopting the 6 documents.

Title: Draft Joint Statement of ASEAN – Japan Economic Ministers' Joint Statement on Initiatives on Economic Resilience in Response to the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19)

The cabinet approved the draft Joint Statement of ASEAN – Japan Economic Ministers' Joint Statement on Initiatives on Economic Resilience in Response to the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Commerce is to proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. Minister of Commerce or a representative is authorized to adop the draft Joint Statement. This is as proposed by Ministry of Commerce.

Gist

The draft Joint Statement of ASEAN – Japan Economic Ministers' Joint Statement on Initiatives on Economic Resilience in Response to the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) expresses serious concern over the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), and call for united and concrete efforts between ASEAN and Japan to aim at achieving these three objectives: (i) sustaining the close economic ties developed by ASEAN and Japan; (ii) mitigating the adverse impact of COVID- 19 on the economy; and (iii) strengthening economic resilience.
