The cabinet met on October 6, 2020 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:

Title: Draft Royal Decree on land expropriation in Bang Grang subdistricts, Muang district, Nonthaburi province, and Bang Len and Bang Muang subdistricts, Bang Yai district, Nonthaburi province, B.E. ?

The cabinet approved in principle the draft Royal Decree on land expropriation in Bang Grang subdistricts, Muang district, Nonthaburi province, and Bang Len and Bang Muang subdistricts, Bang Yai district, Nonthaburi province, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Transport.

Gist

The Royal Decree prescribes area in Bang Grang subdistricts, Muang district, Nonthaburi province, and Bang Len and Bang Muang subdistricts, Bang Yai district, Nonthaburi province to be expropriated for the construction a road extension (3.827 km) linking Nonthaburi 1 Road (Maha Chesadabodindranusorn Bridge) and Kanchanaphisek Road. This is to alleviate traffic around the area.

The cabinet approved in principle the draft Royal Decree on land expropriation in Michai, Nong Gom Koh, and Pho Chai subdistricts, Muang district, Nongkhai province, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Transport.

Gist

The Royal Decree prescribes area in in Michai, Nong Gom Koh, and Pho Chai subdistricts, Muang district, Nongkhai province to be expropriated for the construction a local road linking Highways No. 233 and 243.

Title: Postponement of Thailand?s bid to host 5th Youth Olympic Games (2030)

The cabinet approved postponement of Thailand?s bid to host 5th Youth Olympic Games (2030) from 2026 to 2030, as proposed by Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Gist

The National Olympic Committee of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King has received a letter, dated July 2020, from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to notify postponement of the 4th Youth Olympic Games, to be held in the Republic of Senegal, from 2022 to 2026, as a result of which Thailand?s intended bid to host the 5th Olympic has to be postponed.

Office of the Cabinet Secretariat has deliberated that Thailand needs ample time for the preparation of Youth Olympic Games hosting bidding. Ministry of Tourism and Sports and other related agencies should come up with the detailed planning, desired activities, and estimated budget to be resubmitted to the cabinet for its approval before officializing the bid to host the 5th Youth Olympic Games.
