The cabinet met on October 28, 2020 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved in principle the draft Royal Decree on land expropriation in Ban Doo, Nang Lae, Rim Kok subdistricts, Muang district, Chiang Rai province, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Transport.
The Royal Decree prescribes area in Ban Doo, Nang Lae, Rim Kok subdistricts, Muang district, Chiang Rai province to be expropriated for the construction a local road connecting Highway No. 1 and local road no. NT5023 (lands and buildings to be expropriated approximate 45 rai, and 70 buildings respectively), and a local road connecting Highway NO. 1207 and 2nd section of the Chiang Rai Bypass Road (lands and buildings to be expropriated approximate 45 rai, and 3 buildings respectively.)
The cabinet approved extension of the Emergency Decree nationwide for another month during November 1-30, 2020, as proposed by the National Security Council.
At present, COVID-19 situation remains serious in several continents across the world, while Thai citizens living abroad have continually repatriated. Coupling with the Government?s decision to ease lockdown of high-risk activities and businesses to mitigate people?s plights and economic impact, it is still necessary for concerned officials to strictly implement both response and preventive measures in a unified manner to efficiently control the situation. Besides, the Emergency Decree would help the country and people in preparing for the transition to the New Normal.
The cabinet acknowledged revocation of the Serious Emergency Situation in the Bangkok area and other related orders and declarations, as proposed by the Cabinet Secretariat.
According to the Cabinet Secretariat, the Prime Minister has issued an announcement, dated October 22, 2020, on revocation of the Serious Emergency Situation in the Bangkok area and other related orders and declarations to be taken into effect from 1200hrs of October 22, 2020. The Cabinet Secretariat has made the announcement on the Royal Gazette before proposing to the cabinet for acknowledgement.
The cabinet approved the Draft Memorandum of Understanding between The Central Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Thailand and Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Public Security of China on Forensic Science Academic Exchange and Cooperation. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist, Ministry of Justice is to seek advice from Ministry of Foreign Affairs? Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs before proceeding. Head of the Central Institute of Forensic Science is assigned as signatory of the MOU. This is as proposed by Ministry of Justice.
The Draft Memorandum of Understanding between The Central Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Thailand and Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Public Security of China on Forensic Science Academic Exchange and Cooperation prescribes cooperation and assistance in capacity enhancement, especially professional and technical development, such as trainings, resource and equipment provision, DNA-related technic and technology development, etc.
The draft MOU will take effect for 5 years and may be extended for another 5 years under the consent of both parties.
