The cabinet met on November 3, 2020 at the cabinet retreat held in Phuket. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved the following proposals made by Ministry of Justice:
1. Approved the Action Plan on Narcotics Prevention and Suppression (2020-2022) as a guideline for implementation, operation, resource allocation, and evaluation of all concerned agencies
2. Approved for Office of the Narcotics Control Board to collaborate with other concerned agencies in laying out relevant plans and projects from FY2021 onward.
The Action Plan on Narcotics Prevention and Suppression (2020-2022) is aimed to reduce seriousness of the problem by 50% within 3 years to the point that it does not affect state administration up until 2037. The goals are to reduce number of dealers, drug addicts, and recidivism at the local level.
1) pro-active international cooperation,
2) suppression and law enforcement,
3) narcotics prevention,
4) addiction treatment, and
5) integrative management.
