The cabinet met on November 17, 2020 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved a revision to Section 301 of the Criminal Code (Offense of Abortion), according to the ruling of the Constitutional Court, as proposed by Office of Council of State.
The Constitutional Court has made the ruling, dated February 19, 2020, that a revision needs to be made to Section 301 of the Criminal Code in accordance with the current situation, to add ?gestational age of over 12 weeks? as an additional element of crime. This means any woman causing herself to be aborted or allowing the other person to procure the abortion for herself when her gestational age is not over 12 weeks will not be guilty of crime. This is in order to protect the rights of both babies and the woman with pregnancy.
The cabinet approved the draft Plant Quarantine Act (No. ?) B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The draft Plant Quarantine Act (No. ?) B.E. ? is a revision to the Plant Quarantine Act, B.E. 2507, in order for it to be in line with the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), under which Thailand has ratified, and is a member. The revision is also to enhance efficiency of concerned authority in monitoring and controlling import and export of plants.
