The cabinet met on February 23, 2021 at the Government House. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved extension of the Emergency Decree nationwide for another month during March 1- 31, 2021, as proposed by the National Security Council.
At present, COVID-19 situation remains serious in several continents across the world with the report on the disease mutations found in UK, South Africa, and Nigeria. Coupling with Myanmar?s ongoing COVID-19 transmission cases and political unrest which might prompt an increase of people smuggling into Thailand, posing more risk for the disease spread, it is therefore, necessary for concerned officials to continue to strictly implement both response and preventive measures in a unified manner to efficiently control the situation.
The cabinet approved in principle the draft Ministerial Regulation on demarcation of Satun province?s Tam Malang Port, Jeh Bilang Port, Pak Bara Port, mooring zone, and vessel traffic control zone, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Transport, and ordered for the Ministry of take into consideration the comments of Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and National Economic and Social Development Council.
The draft Ministerial Regulation on demarcation of Satun province?s Tam Malang Port, Jeh Bilang Port, Pak Bara Port, mooring zone, and vessel traffic control zone, B.E. ? is enforced to control, ensure safety, regulate and accommodate waterway traffic, and control water pollution of Satun province?s Tam Malang Port, Jeh Bilang Port, Pak Bara Port, mooring zone, and vessel traffic control zone in accordance with an increasing traffic.
The cabinet approved in principle the draft Royal Decree on land readjustment in Phrom Nimit and Soi Thong sub-districts, Ta Khli district, Nakhon Sawan province, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives
The draft Royal Decree on land readjustment in Phrom Nimit and Soi Thong sub-districts, Ta Khli district, Nakhon Sawan province, B.E. ? prescribes scope of land to be readjusted in Phrom Nimit and Soi Thong sub-districts, Ta Khli district, Nakhon Sawan province for agricultural purpose. Readjusted land will be benefited from the irrigation system and have access to public utilities, thereby, promoting the country?s agriculture, and increase of farmers? revenues.
The cabinet approved the proposal of Ministry of Energy to increase the number of committee members of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited, a state enterprise, in a bid to enhance the organization?s regulatory efficiency.
In order for PTTOR, as a company listed in SET, to be efficiently and successfully operated, and become a driving force of Thai economy, Ministry of Energy, which PTTOR is under and as major shareholder of PTTOR, deems appropriate to increase the number of PTTOR committee from 11 to 15 members to include experts in:
1) legal affairs,
2) international business,
3) retail business, and
4) human resources management.
The cabinet approved the signing of MOU on educational cooperation between Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Thailand and Canada?s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD). Should there be an amendment before signing in parts that are not gist, Ministry of Education may seek advice from Ministry of Foreign Affairs? Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs without having to resubmit to the cabinet. Minister of Education was authorized as signatory of the MOU. This is as proposed by Ministry of Education.
The draft MOU on educational cooperation between Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Thailand and Canada?s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) prescribes promotion of cooperation in recruitment of Canadian teachers to teach in Thai institutions.
