The cabinet met on November 16, 2021. Some of the resolutions are as follows:

Title: Draft Ministerial Regulation on exemption of renewal fees for tourism business operation licenses and tour guide licenses, B.E. ?

The cabinet approved the draft Ministerial Regulation on exemption of renewal fees for tourism business operation licenses and tour guide licenses, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and ordered the Ministry to take into account the opinions of the Budget Bureau and the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council before proceeding.

Gist

The draft Ministerial Regulation on exemption of renewal fees for tourism business operation licenses and tour guide licenses, B.E. ? stipulates:

1. Exemption of fees (2,000 baht) for renewal of tourism business operation licenses, and licenses for tourism office branches (1,000 baht) for a period of 2 years from the date this Ministerial Regulation comes into force.

2. Exemption of tour guide license renewal fee (200 baht) for a period of 5 years from the date this Ministerial Regulation comes into force.

Title: Request for exemption of cabinet?s resolution for productive land tenure in mangrove forests in 21 coastal provinces (FY2019-2020)

The cabinet approved exemption of cabinet?s resolution, dated July 23, 1991, August 23, 2000, and October 17, 2000, on strict prohibition of utilization of the area in mangrove forest, to allow productive land tenure in mangrove forests (4,105 ? 0 ? 04 rai) in 21 coastal provinces (FY2019-2020), as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Gist

The area in mangrove forests in 21 coastal provinces (Rayong, Chantaburi, Trat, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Samut Prakarn, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Phetchaburi, Prachuab Kirikhan, Bhumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Ranong, Phang-gna, Krabi, Phuket, Satun, and Trang), totaling 4,105 ? 0 ? 04 rai, will be exepted from the cabinet?s resolution on strict prohibition of utilization of the area in mangrove forest, and will be allowed to be used for housing and production.

Title: Bidding for Thailand?s hosting of International Horticultural Exposition in Udon Thani in 2026 and Nakhon Ratchasima in 2029

The cabinet approved in principle for Thailand to submit the bidding to International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) for Thailand?s hosting of International Horticultural Exposition in Udon Thani in 2026 (level B), and Nakhon Ratchasima in 2029 (level A1). Responsible agencies for the matter are Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Interior, and hailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). This is as proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Gist

International Horticultural Exposition in Udon Thani will be held for 134 days during November 1, 2026 and March 14, 2027. Approx. 3.6 million of attendants is expected.

International Horticultural Exposition in Nakhon Ratchasima will be held for 110 days during November 10, 2029 and February 28, 2030. Approx. 3.6 million of attendants is expected.

The total budget of 20 million Baht has been proposed for Thailand?s hosting of International Horticultural Exposition in Udon Thani in 2026 and Nakhon Ratchasima in 2029.

Title: Draft Agreed Minutes of the 4th Meeting of Thailand-Vietnam Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation

The cabinet approved the draft Agreed Minutes of the 4th Meeting of Thailand-Vietnam Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Foreign Affairs may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs is authorized to endorsed the draft Agreed Minutes. This is as proposed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Gist

The draft Agreed Minutes of the 4th Meeting of Thailand-Vietnam Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation demonstrates the commitment of the Government of both countries in promoting comprehensive and tangible cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels, especially post-COVID-19 socioeconomic recovery, for mutual interests. Focus will be made on partnership for growth, peace, and sustainable future.

Areas of cooperation stated in the Agreed Minutes include: 1) political and security cooperation; 2) public health ooperation (COVID-19 prevention); 3) economic, trade and investment cooperation; 4) socio-cultural and people cooperation; 5) sustainable development cooperation; and 6) cooperation under multilateral frameworks.
