The cabinet met on January 11, 2022. Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The Cabinet approved in principle the Draft Royal Decree on prorogation of the second legislative ordinary session of the National Assembly, B.E. ?, as proposed by the Cabinet Secretariat.
According to Section 121 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, each year there shall be two ordinary sessions of the National Assembly, each of which shall last 120 days. The day on which the first sitting is held shall be considered the commencement date of the first annual ordinary session, and the commencement date of the second annual ordinary session shall be fixed by the House of Representatives.
In light of the above, the convocation and prorogation dates of the National Assembly are set as follows:

It is, therefore, appropriate for the second annual ordinary session of the National Assembly to be prorogued from March 1, 2022 (2565) onward.
The cabinet approved the draft Royal Decree on exemption of fees for machinery registration, B.E. ?, as proposed by Ministry of Industry.
The draft Royal Decree on exemption of fees for machinery registration, B.E. ? prescribes exemption of 3 categories of fee for machinery registration:
1) machinery ownership registration;
2) registration mark which the authority stamps or mark on the machines; and
3) copy of machinery ownership certification.
The extension is made for another year, and will take effect from Janaury 22, 2022 to January 21, 2023.
The cabinet approved for the designation of May 24 of every year as National Community Forest Day, as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
It is deemed appropriate to designate May 24 of every year as National Community Forest Day as it is the day His Majesty King Rama X has graciously approved the drafting of the National Community Forest Act, B.E. 2562.
The cabinet acknowledged the report on the Industrial Economics Status in Q3/2021 and Outlook for Q4/2021, and Industrial Economic Report for October 2021 as proposed by Ministry of Industry.
Based on the report, manufacturing production index (MPI) in Q3/2021 contracted by 0.8% comparing to Q2 of the same year due to the widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key industries that contributed to the contraction were refined petroleum production, hard disk drive, and motorcycles, while key industry that continue to expand is non-tyre rubber products.
MPI for October 2021 saw an expansion of 2.9% YOY due to an increase of purchasing demand in the country and from overseas, following the ease of country lockdown.
Key industries that have expanded well in October 2021 were automotive and parts, electronics parts, refined petroleum production, furniture, and non-tyre rubber products.
Key industries that are expected to expand well in the 4th quarter of 2021 are iron and steel, electrical industry, pulp, paper and printed matters, rubber and rubber products, and food industry.
Nevertheless, manufacturing and export remains unstable due to the uncertain situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cabinet approved signing of Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) on Integration of Natural Capital Accounting in Public and Private Sector Policy and Decision-making for Sustainable Landscapes, and authorized Secretary-General of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning or a representative as signatory of the PCA, to countersign with representative and Lead Service Provider of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor affect policy obligation, Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. This is as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment.
Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment, through Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, has proposed for funding for the ?Integration of Natural Capital Accounting in Public and Private Sector Policy and Decision-making for Sustainable Landscapes? project from the 6th round of Global Environment Facility (GEF-6), which is administered by UNEP. The funding has been approved by GEF Chief Executive Officer for US$2 million. Project implementation period is for 54 months, starting from the signing of the PCA onward.
