The cabinet approved the draft Royal Decree on annual tax reduction for taxis, motor-tricycle taxis (Tuk Tuk), and public motorcycles under Vehicle Act, B.E. ..., as proposed by Ministry of Transport.
The draft Royal Decree on annual tax reduction for taxis, motor-tricycle taxis (Tuk Tuk), and public motorcycles under Vehicle Act, B.E. ... is aimed to help alleviate the burden of approx. 270,000 registered public vehicle operators who have been impacted by the COVID-19 situation and gasoline price hike.
Under the Royal Decree, annual tax for public vehicles in 2023 (October 1, 2022- September 30, 2023) will be reduced by 90% of the normal rates. According to the Prime Minister, the Government has earlier implemented a measure to assist 16,694 people under this group of occupations who are informal labors and not covered by the Thai social security program through subsidy provision of 5,000 Baht each.
The cabinet approved the draft announcement of Prime Minister's Office on names of countries, territories, sovereignties, and capitals, as determined by the Royal Society of Thailand.
The draft announcement prescribes revocation of announcement of Prime Minister's Office on names of countries, territories, sovereignties, and capitals, dated November 9, 2001, and invocation of Announcement of the Royal Society of Thailand on names of countries, territories, sovereignties, and capitals, dated June 29, 2022, which shall be proceed accordingly by public offices. The Announcement of the Royal Society of Thailand on names of countries, territories, sovereignties, and capitals shall take effect a day after it is published in the Royal Gazette.

The cabiinet approved the proposal made by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives on allocation of budget from Farmers Fund to the Department of Fishery for the bolstering of Thai sea shrimp industry (phase 1 of 2022).
The approval is made for an allocation of 510 million Baht from the Farmers Fund to bolster Thai sea shrimp industry, of which the import volume has seen decreased to only 300,000 tons/year. The allocated budget will be used to acquire production factors, promote business liquidation, and conduct marketing and training, among others.
The cabinet approved the draft MOU on agricultural cooperation between Thailand?s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and UK?s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives or a representative is authorized as signatory of the MOU. This is as proposed by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The draft MOU on agricultural cooperation between Thailand?s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and UK?s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is aimed to promote bilateral cooperation in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fishery, aquaculture, food processing, and agricultural policies, as well as any other issue of mutual interest. The cooperation includes exchange of technology, training, research and technical cooperation, promotion of agro products, and reduction of non-tax barrier, among others.
The cabinet approved the signing of the draft MOU between Thailand?s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and India?s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on ICT and digital technology cooperation. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society may proceed, and inform the cabinet later of the amendment. Minister of Digital Economy and Society or a representative is authorized as signatory of the MOU. This is as proposed by Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.
Scope of the draft MOU between Thailand?s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and India?s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on ICT and digital technology cooperation includes promotion of business cooperation between participants of the two countries in various fields, e.g., software, technological park, IT products and services; sharing of good practices in ICT and technologies; surveys/researches/innovations on ICT and digital technology; exchange of expertise; cyber security; among others.
