Some of the resolutions are as follows:
The cabinet approved review of the cabinet resolutions (dated March 10, 2015 and June 13, 2017) on National Designated Authority (NDA) for Green Climate Fund (GCF), as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
This is the approval in the change of national focal point for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and National Designated Authority (NDA) for Green Climate Fund (GCF) from Office of National Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning to the Department of Climate Change and Environment.
The cabinet acknowledged the following proposals of National Water Resource Committee:
1. Acknowledged measures for rainy season of 2024, and plan on increase of water management efficiency during rainy season and water storage for 2024/2025 dry season
2. Assigned concerned agencies to proceed accordingly, and report to the National Water Resource Committee
Ten measures for the rainy season of 2024 are:
1. Forecasting and targeting flood-prone and low average rainfall areas (from March 2024 onwards)
2. Reviewing and adjusting water management criteria for water sources and diversion dams (before and throughout the rainy season)
3. Repairing and improving machineries, hydraulic structures, drainage systems, and telemetering stations (before and throughout the rainy season)
4. Reparing and improving water barriers (before and throughout the rainy season)
5. Increasing water efficiency and improving water drainage system (before and throughout the rainy season)
6. Exercising incident action plan, establishing incidental command post before disaster (throughout the rainy season)
7. Accelerating water storage and developing water sources at the end of the rainy season (May ? November 2024)
8. Empowering people sector and networks on sharing of incident-related information (before and throughout the rainy season)
9. Raising awareness and public relations (before and throughout the rainy season)
10. Monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting measures in accordance with the disaster situation (throughout the rainy season)
The cabinet approved the draft Memorandum of Understanding on Legal and Justice Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and authorized Minister of Justice or a representative as signatory of the MOU. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Justice may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. This is as proposed by Ministry of Justice.
The draft Memorandum of Understanding on Legal and Justice Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aims to develop relations and understanding, and cooperation between both parties through the exchange of expertise, and sharing of information in the fields related to judicial and legal affairs, such as law and justice system, and legal and justice-related operations and procedures.
The cabinet approved the following proposals of Ministry of Tourism and Sports as follows:
1. Approved 3 outcome documents of the 12th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting
a.Draft Statement of the 12th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting (TMM12)
b.Draft Policy Recommendations on ?Prevention of Food Loss and Reduction of Food Waste in Asia-Pacific Region? and
c.Draft Concept Paper on ?APEC Platform for Promotion of Tourism Cooperation Opportunities in Asia-Pacific Region?
2. Authorized Minister of Tourism and Sports or a representative to adopt the documents at the 12th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on June 9, 2024 in the Republic of Peru
The draft Statement outlines the need for new innovations to tackle challenges in the tourism sector and to promote sustainable tourism. The draft Policy Recommendations is the outcome of a research project conducted by the Republic of Peru, which will support APEC principle in a concrete manner. The draft Concept Paper is aimed to create a platform for tourism data management to promote international cooperation in tourism, facilitate collaborations and exchange of information related to tourism, and enhance tourism resource management efficiency for tourism sustainability of the Asia-Pacific region.
The 3 documents demonstrate joint intent of member economies to develop regional tourism and promote tourism revitalization and economic growth in an inclusive and sustainable manner. Thailand?s participation in TMM12 will enhance the country?s notable role at the international stage.
The cabinet approved the following proposals of Ministry of Labor:
1. Approved Ratification of International Labor Organization Convention No. 144 on Tripartite Consultation (International Labor Standards) 1976
2. Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is to prepare the instrument of ratification for becoming a party to the convention
3. Minister of Labor shall deliver the instrument of ratification to the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, as the depositary of the Convention.
Delivery of the instrument of ratification to the ILO Director-General will take place during the 112th ILO Annual General Meeting held between June 11 ? 15, 2024 in Geneva, Swiss Confederation)
ILO Convention No. 144 on Tripartite Consultation (International Labor Standards) 1976 is one of the ILO's good governance conventions to require member states to carry out a tripartite consultation process (between representatives of the government, employer's representative, and employee representatives) on issues related to international labor standards.
