The cabinet meeting on Friday 18, April 2008 has come to the following decision
The cabinet approved as proposed by the National Security Council the followings: 1. Agreed with the announcement of the State of Emergency extension in three provinces, Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala in every district of these three provinces for another three months from April 20, 2008 onward. 2. Agreed with draft of the announcement of the State of Emergency by announcing adherence to the State of Emergency Law, dated July 20, 2005 in the area of the three insurgency plagued provinces of the Deep South, Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala. In accordance with this a special organization to work on country administration was established during the state emergency law 2005, dated January 16, 2007 and this will still be in effect from April 20, 2008 onward until the cabinet determines a future course of action. 3. Acknowledgement of the draft of the announcement and the Prime Minister's order of the State of Emergency to be in effect in the the three insurgency plagued provinces of the Deep South; Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani. The State of Emergency was originally dated July 20, 2005, the Prime Minister then ordered in January 2007 the establishment of a government official organization to resolve the State of Emergency, dated January 16, 2007 according to the extended State of Emergency in the area mentioned above. This announcement will be in effect from April 20, 2008 onwards or until the Prime Minister has other orders related to this issue.
