The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday 30, December 2008 has come to the following decision:
Approval of the market sanction program for the corn 2008/09 as follows;
1. Extend the quantity of corn deposit from 500,000 tons to 750,000 tons.
2. Extend the deposit period from December 2008 to February 2009.
3. Maintain the deposit price at 8.50 Baht per kilogram.
4. Approve term and condition amendment in 2008/09
5. Approve spending cost for credit deposit at 2,125 million baht.
6. Assign the Ministry of Commerce to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Interior and related agencies to manage importing corn from neighboring countries.
7. Assign the Ministry of Commerce to investigate the corn import from neighboring countries with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Interior and the Royal Thai Police.
