Established in the year 2005, Ningxia Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. is one of the largest fruit enterprises in Ningxia Hui Autonomous region as well as in northwestern China. Its main business Scope includes cultivation, procession, wholesale and retail sales of fruits and vegetables.
Covering an area of around 2500mu, Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd.'s whole production area is divided into four districts with over 6000 greenhouses inside. By controlling the growth speed of
plants, they are able to maximize its output to be around 2500kgs per mu. There are more than 40 varieties growing in the districts which include grape, peaches, apricot, jujube, strawberry, cucumber, tomatoes, etc. In the area, the company is also planning to build some multifunctional zone for the purpose of food, catering, entertainment as well as for tourism.
Ningxia Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. has its own shops in wholesale markets of Ningxia. In Ningxia, there are two fruit wholesale markets: Donghuan wholesale market, the old one and Xinshiji wholesale market, the new one.Operating for around 17 years with an Area of around 100mu, Donghuan wholesale market is now not able to meet the growing needs of customers. The new one, will has an area of around 300mu, has its special advantage in cold chain logistics and will open on 01Jan, 2012.
Ningxia Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. is now providing fruits for over 95% supermarkets in Ningxia. The old way of cooperation between the company and supermarkets is that the supermarket provides some space for the company and the company does business by itself. Nowadays, the supermarket changed the method of doing business and, they prefer to buy directly from the company and sell by themselves. In this way, their demand for fruits is soaring.
With the rise of living standard and consumption, Thai fruits such as Durian, Mango, Longan, Mangosteen, King Banana are becoming more and more popular in Ningxia and other cities in northwestern China. At present, Ningxia Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd.'s annual sales of Thai fruits are around 30 million Yuan per year. Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. is now purchasing imported fruits from Guangdong market instead of sourcing directly from other countries. Their plan for the year 2012, however, is to import directly from Thailand. According to them, there are some inconveniences related with buying from Guangdong, for example, the price is normally high and quality not so satisfactory. With the support of local government, the transportation of fruits from Thailand to Ningxia will not be a question for the company and, all they need now, is to find the right partner from Thailand for a long term cooperation. Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. plans to visit Thailand next year during THAIFEX 2012 period in May and if possible, they will also visit big Thai fruit companies and fruit farms. In their plan, they will open more than 100 chain stores in Ningxia within two years for the retail sale of high-end domestic and imported fruits. Their estimated annual sales of Thai fruits in the future would be around 50-60million Yuan per year.
Ningxia Xiao Ren Fruit Production Ltd. does promotions every year to increase sales. Their last promotion was held between 21-30 August in 6 branches of Xinhua Department Store including: Dongfanghong branch, Beijingwumei branch, Chaoxihuayuan branch, etc. Their sales increased 15-20% during promotional period. They plan to hold more promotions next year in January as well as in May, 2012 and would like to invite Thai Trade Center Chengdu to join.
