Mr. & Mrs. Sasaki have 25 years experience in importing handicrafts from Thailand and Laos and had been retailing them at fairs at major department stores in Japan. Mr. Sasaki said that setting up own shop in central Osaka had been their longtime dream, and it came true in Apr.2011. Their company name "Bouavanh" means "lotus flowers" in Laotian, but most of their products are quality silk products from North Thailand. TTC Osaka visited them on the opening day of their 1st shop at Minamisemba, Osaka, and since then, introduced them at TTC Japan’s website, Osaka Gift Show (Sep.2011), sample exhibition at Thai-Arima Cultural Exchange Program (Feb.-Mar.2012) etc…
Mr. Sasaki said that thanks to TTC Osaka, their name was introduced by textile business newspaper in Sep.2011 and they could have many inquiries from new customers and could have received good offers of shop location. They could have opened the 2nd shop at the Keihan Mall, Osaka in Sep.2011 and at present, they are preparing for opening new shop at the Hilton Plaza, Osaka. (Opening Date: Mar. 8, 2012) . Mr. Sasaki said that World’s top brands such as CHANEL and HERMES are located in the same building. He’d like to show how well Thai silk products are against the world's top brands products, so asked for TTC’s continued support especially in PR.
Ms. Siripan, executive director of TTC expressed congratulation for opening of new shop, and said that TTC glad to know that quality Thai silk shop will be opened at prime location in front of Osaka Station. TTC is willing to support them by introducing opportunities to participate in Thai events and PR to potential customers of their products. In addition, TTC suggested them to expand import items from Thailand.
