The star-studded panel includes renowned directors Mouly Surya (Indonesia), Joko Anwar (Indonesia), Banjong Pisanthanakun (Thailand), Adisorn Tresirikasem (Thailand), Jun Robles Lana (Philippines) and award-winning actress, Agot Isidro (Philippines). With such diverse representation across the Asian film industry, audiences can look forward to a thrilling second season of HOOQ Filmmakers Guild. The panel will lend their hands in selecting Southeast Asia's most imaginative scripts and together with HOOQ, help turn their story into reality for budding filmmakers in the region. 5 selected scripts will be each given a funding of USD30,000 to be converted into a pilot episode that will debut on HOOQ. Together with HOOQ subscribers' viewership, the panel will decide the winning entry to be produced into a complete season. Returning for the second year, award-winning Indonesian director and competition judge, Mouly Surya, commented, "I believe we were only scratching the surface in terms of discovering Asian film talents last year and we were already so blown away by the entries. The search for the next winning story from HOOQ Filmmakers Guild is on and will be open for entries until July 31, 2018.All budding film professionals, be it directors, producers or scriptwriters need only send in scripts and treatments for a TV series idea they have to participate. Submissions can be from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia. Applicants must be either in film school or working as professionals in the film industry with prior film production experience. They are to submit the script and treatment for a mini-series or a full series with a maximum of 13 episodes for a single season in order to qualify. There will be no restriction to genre, however submissions and productions must be in the language of the applicant's country. The winning series will be part of HOOQ's original productions including Yowis Ben, Ayat Ayat Cinta 2, Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts, Saranair Love You and Bhak, the winning entry of the inaugural HOOQ Filmmakers Guild, scheduled to be released early next year.
