Foreign Minister hosted ‘The Islamic Culture Night’

On 18 October 2010, 1800 hrs, Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya presided over “The Islamic Culture Night”, at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This event was also attended by representatives from government and private sector, embassies and other dignitaries.

The Islamic Culture Night was organized to publicize the image of Thailand through the cultural dimension. It is aimed at creating recognition for foreigners, particularly Muslims around the world, the diversities in the Thai society that have existed peacefully and harmoniously which includes the traditional Islamic culture as one of the oldest ingredients. The Islamic Culture Night also paved way for the 3rd Asia-Middle East Dialogue (AMED III), which Thailand will host during 14-16 December 2010.

The event showcased a variety of interesting activities including unique and rarely seen cultural shows from the Thai Muslim community, an exhibition about the history of the Muslim community in Bangkok, local crafts and sumptuous Muslim delicacies.
