On 22-23 October 2010, Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, will visit Tak Province to meet with the Commanding-General of the 3rd Army Region, Governors of Thai-Myanmar border provinces, and local administrative authorities to discuss and exchange views on the relevant border issues.
In addition, Foreign Minister Kasit is also scheduled to visit the Mae La temporary shelter area for displaced persons from Myanmar. Foreign Minister Kasit will meet with the authorities in the temporary shelter, the camp committee as well as NGOs to obtain information on displaced persons’ living conditions and to exchange views on how to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced persons including education, health care, vocational training and other areas.
