Australian Ambassador pays a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit on the occasion of his assumption of office.

On 20 October 2010, Mr. James Joseph Wise, Ambassador of the commonwealth of Australia to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya at the Foreign Ministry on the occasion of taking up his appointment to Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Kasit welcomed the Ambassador and stated that the close tie between Thailand and Australia have been strengthened and expanded, especially economic cooperation and security cooperation such as military and police networks to address anti- transnational crimes, narcotics as well as people smuggling and human trafficking issues.

Additionally, Foreign Minister Kasit also proposed cooperation on education by inviting semi-retired or retired Australian teachers or any volunteers to teach the English language in Thailand. The Australian Ambassador agreed and gave his full support to this proposal.
