Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs received a donation for people affected by the recent flood from Consul-General of Thailand in Kota Bharu, Malaysia.

On 29 November 2010, H.E. Mr. Theerakun Niyom, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, received a donation of 12,313.20 Malaysian Ringgit and 950 Baht (or approximately 124,000 Baht in total) from Mr. Surapon Petch-Vra, the Consul-General of Thailand in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. The donation came from people of both Thai and Malaysian nationals who participated in Loy Kratong festival events recently held in the State of Kelantan and the State of Terengganu. These events were organized by a community of Malaysian nationals of Siamese origin in Kelantan and a community of Thai nationals residing in Terengganu, with the support of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu as part of the effort to forge close relations with overseas Thai communities and strengthen people-to-people relations between Thailand and Malaysia.
