Thailand to Host the Sixth Thailand-Israel Working Group Dialogue

Thailand will host the Sixth Thailand-Israel Working Group Dialogue on 3 May 2011 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ways to further enhance the Thai-Israeli relations.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Mr. Pravit Chaimongkol, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mrs. Ruth Kahanoff, Deputy Director-General for Asia and the Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, and attended by representatives of concerned authorities from both sides.

Trade and investment, science and technology cooperation, labour agreement, and technical assistance are among the topics to be discussed during the meeting. In addition, special briefings will also be given by the Israeli and Thai sides on political developments in the Middle East and South East Asia respectively.

During her visit to Thailand, Mrs. Kahanoff will also pay a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The Working Group Dialogue is an important mechanism for Thailand and Israel to review their cooperation in all fields. The Dialogue takes place yearly, with both sides alternating as host. The fifth meeting took place in Jerusalem in March 2009.
