The Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo has recently received a thank you letter from a Japanese man who lost his home in Iwate from the recent tsunami and was forced to evacuated to Kamaichi province.

“I have lost everything and do not know when I will be able to travel abroad again, but when I tasted the donated Tom Yum Koong noodle, it felt like I had traveled to Thailand once more,” wrote Mr. Takahashi in the handwritten letter. The letter further expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable assistance provided by Thailand, and determination to live on so that the writer could return to Suvarnabhumi Airport once again.

Following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan which caused a high death toll, as well as injuries and major damages, various forms of assistance were graciously given to Japan by the Thai Royal Family as well as by the Thai Government, private sector and the general public.
