On 1 June 2011, Mr. Nabil H.H. Al Ashri, Charge d'Affaires of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on Mr. Kiattikhun Chartprasert, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, to present a message from His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The message from His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud expressed their wishes to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej for a speedy recovery. The message is also a reflection of the warm friendship between the two royal families.
