Foreign Minister hosts an afternoon tea for members of diplomatic corps from Europe

On 17 June 2011, Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, hosted an afternoon tea meeting for the Ambassadors and Charg? d’affaires from 12 European countries where the Foreign Minister paid official visits during 2010-2011 namely Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Holy See, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom as well as the Ambassador/Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand, at Sattabongkot Room, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister assured his European counterparts of Thailand’s political and economic stability and discussed, pursuant to his visits to Europe, about the future cooperation between Thailand and Europe at bilateral, multilateral and regional levels.

The Foreign Minister also recognized European partnership in promoting democratic values within Thai society as well as in enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness through capacity building and exchanges of knowledge and best practices in the areas of sciences, technology and innovation while pushing forward the Thai-EU Free Trade Area Agreement (FTA) and Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) negotiations.
