Seminar on “Food Safety Management System: A Case Study from Japan

The Department of East Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Thailand and the Joint Working Group on Food Quality Improvement will organize a seminar on “Food Safety Management System: A Case Study from Japan” on 3 August 2011 from 08.30 — 13.00 hrs. at Narathip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The said seminar is held to inform the Thai public and private sectors involved in the food industry of Japanese procedures in food safety and hygiene, as well as in microbial food safety. It will also be an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on risks and protection with regards to the issue of food radiation. Opening remarks will be made by Mr. Paskorn Siriyaphan, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Seiji Kojima, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand. Also present are Professor Dr. Sadao Komemushi, Visiting Professor, Osaka City University and Chairperson of Food Safety Network of Japan and Dr. Shinichai Kawamoto, Director, Food Safety Division, National Food Research Institute. The seminar will be conducted via Thai-Japanese translations.
