The Royal Thai Government presents audiovisual equipments to Yangon University

On 22 July 2011, H.E. Mr. Apirath Vienravi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, handed over the audiovisual equipments to Dr. Lwin Lwin Soe, Rector of the Yangon University of Foreign Language (YUFL). Also present at the hand-over ceremony were the YUFL’s lecturers and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy.

The provision of equipments is part of the ongoing effort to support the teaching of Thai language at YUFL, supported by the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassador of Thailand has delivered a speech emphasizing the close ties between Myanmar and Thai peoples as well as further strengthened through the learning of each other’s cultures and ways of life through languages, adding that the provision of equipments symbolised the goodwill gesture. The Royal Thai Government attached great importance to educational cooperation with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and hoped that through the learning of languages, the peoples from both countries would enrich their mutual understanding and become ever closer.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of Thailand also visited the Department of Thai Study and observed class of Thai Language teaching.
