New Zealand Ambassador pays a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister

New Zealand Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister before the latter completes his duty as the Thai Foreign Minister. In this regard, both sides discussed issues such as the strengthening of the existing relationship between the two countries to a higher level, and relationship between politicians and members of Parliament of both sides. Furthermore, both sides exchanged views on New Zealand best practices and democracy development.

On 4 August 2011, Mr. Bede Gilbert Corry, New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kasit Piromya, Foreign Minister. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Director- General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, was also present at the meeting.

The Foreign Minister thanked New Zealand for the cooperation rendered to Thailand thus far and proposed enhancing the relationship between politicians and members of parliament of the two countries, as well as New Zealand best practices on the management of livestock and agricultural products, ethics, transparency, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and democracy development.

New Zealand Ambassador, in turn, thanked the Foreign Minister for his important role in fostering closer relationship between Thailand and New Zealand in various aspects, especially his new initiatives such as teaching government officers English, cooperation in forensic science, and research on science, technology and innovation, which clearly reflects the in-depth cooperation between the two countries.
