Thailand provides assistance to flood victims in Myanmar

On 8 November 2011, Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, presented flood relief assistance worth 2 million baht to U Aung Thein, Ambassador of the Republic Union of Myanmar to Thailand.

Foreign Minister Surapong expressed his condolences for flooding situation in Myanmar, which caused about 100 deaths, 8,000 houses destroyed and 20,000 people affected in the central Myanmar.

On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Thailand for assistance and support to flood victims in Myanmar, despite the fact that Thailand has been affected by the flooding situation.
