Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra pays a courtesy call on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia

On 17 November 2011, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra paid a courtesy call on Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and discussed issues on Thai-Indonesian bilateral relations and ASEAN. In terms of bilateral relations, both sides stressed the need for cooperation on issues discussed during the official visit to Indonesia of Prime Minister Yingluck on 12 September 2011, which range from trade and investment, agriculture and fishery to Halal food and tourism. In this regard, President Yudhoyono supported many of Thailand’s visions Prime Minister Yingluck said during the 19th ASEAN Summit, such as disaster management, climate change, cooperation of food and energy security.

President Yudhoyono thanked Prime Minister Yingluck for attending the Summit, despite her domestic engagement in Thailand at this difficult time. Prime Minister Yingluck, in turn, expressed her appreciation to the President and Indonesia for the warm welcome and hospitality, as well as congratulated the President for the Summit’s success and concrete outcomes.
