Thailand recognises the State of Palestine

World News Tuesday January 24, 2012 15:53 —Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Thailand has officially recognised the State of Palestine since 17 January 2012.

Thailand has supported the rights to self-determination and the legal rights to return to their homeland of the Palestinian people.

In this connection, the Royal Thai Government wishes to reiterate Thailand’s full support for the Middle East Peace Process, and believes that sustainable peace in the Middle East can only achieved through meaningful negotiations between Israel and Palestine, based on the principle of two-State solution, Roadmap of the Quartet, relevant UN resolutions and Arab Peace Initiatives, which will pave the way for the eventual peace agreement that both Israel and Palestine can live side by side in peace and security.
