Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand on 6 February 2012 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul. The said visit will not only help strengthen bilateral ties between Thailand and Vietnam, but will also be an opportunity for both sides to discuss the various areas of cooperation between each other, in particular following-up on the results of the official visit to Vietnam of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra during 30 November 2011. This indeed coincides with the Royal Thai Government’s priority to restore and develop relations with neighbouring countries, so as to promote economic development within the region.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Foreign Minister will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Yingluck at the Government House and hold bilateral talk with Foreign Minister Surapong, who will subsequently host a dinner in honour of the Vietnamese Foreign Minister and his delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
