On 26 March 2012, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, the Office of Commercial Affairs of Thailand in Seoul, the Board of Investment of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, hosted a business networking session titled ?Strengthening Thailand?ROK Business Partnerships? on the occasion of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra?s Official Visit to the Republic of Korea.
More than thirty?one Thai business executives accompanying the Prime Minister on her visit attended the event. From 7 sectors namely, autoparts, agriculture and food, water and waste water management, energy, cosmetic surgery, entertainment and tourism, the Thai businesses met with their ROK counterparts, approximately one hundred representatives from large Korean companies, who also actively participated in the session.
The Thai and ROK business executives attending this session were pleased that the event successfully provided a platform for their networking and business matching. It also expanded new business opportunities and awareness of each other?s potential and provided impetus to existing cooperation.
This networking session is another activity under the economic dimension of Thai foreign policy to further promote bilateral trade and investment between Thailand and the ROK. It supports the efforts towards building a ?strategic partnership? between the two countries as declared by the two Leaders during this Official Visit.
