Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on the recent bombing incident on 9 April 2012 in Bahrain

Thailand condemns the bombing incident on 9 April 2012 in Al-Ekar village in Bahrain. Thailand would also like to take this opportunity to express sympathy to those affected by such act of terror, particularly the injured police officers and their families.

Furthermore, Thailand takes note of substantial progress made by the Government of Bahrain towards fully implementing the recommendations by the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI). In this connection, Thailand wishes to reiterate its full support for the Government of Bahrain’s determination and efforts to bring together all parts of society to meet the shared aspirations and move the country forward, and calls for all parties concerned to reject all forms of violence and participate in the reform and reconciliation process so as to achieve a more prosperous future for Bahrain.
